Here's a very nice VINTAGE LEITZ LEICA IIIa IIIb IIIc IIIf High Top Hightop Camera Case in stitched brown LEATHER with LARGE 3/8 Tripod screw, made by Leitz in Wetzlar, Germany. This is the Eveready Case meant for use with one of the LEICA auxiliary viewfinders in place. Sleeker that the "arch top" version. Could also be used with the Leica meter fitted. Short nose, best for lenses of 50mm or less. Inside the lid is a spring clip for a filter or hood. Marked with the Leica logo on the front of the lens barrel and stamped with the E Leitz Wetzlar Germany logo on the bottom With the LARGE (3/8) thread tripod screw. Some very minor scuffing on the nose, but no scratches, gouges or tears. Stitching is excellent all around, with no pulled stitches. Signs of flex wear on the flap above the snaps. Paint on snaps and rivets is 95% or better.

Strap is very nice with little wear and no cracking. Lining has very little wear. The inside has been marked with pen and marker by Ralph Belmont M.

Of Sanford Maine, the original owner of a remarkable collection of cameras and cases of all kinds. Made in GERMANY of rich dark brown top quality leather. Size is 6 1/2" wide x 5" high x 3 deep closed. By comparison, the "standard" III case is only 3 1/4 high.
