All in superb working condition and under guarantee from Cameraworks. This camera and lens have been re painted to replicate the look of a vintage very used Leica M3 black paint camera. Baffle cleaned and repainted matt black.
Main drum, spring take-up rollers and guides cleaned and lubricated. Slow-speed escapement ultrasonically cleaned and bearings lubricated. Cams and blind release catches, cleaned and lubricated. Shutter curtains checked for light leaks/curling. Slit width and tensions reset.Transport mechanism cleaned and lube. Advance block clean and lube. Brake cleaned and new friction disc fitted. Flash sync contacts cleaned and reset.
ST mechanism clean and lube. Removed rangefinder assembly from camera.
Remove main prism, dissolve old canada balsam/paint and removing the concave objective. Clean and polish hypotenuse surfaces of prism components. New Ag beam splitter applied using physical vapour deposition.Prism components reassembled using UV cure optical adhesive (NOA61). If cemented directly to the main prism, the prism field lens (doublet), is cleaned, centred and re-cemented before being cemented onto the main prism. Camera repainted in classic black enamel.
Paintwork flattened and light brassing as requested. Camera reassembled, cleaned and checked. Summicron DR 1963248 Summicron DR lens. Nose of lens damaged beyond practical repair. These parts were replaced with salvaged parts and front objective replaced with a previously reconditioned and recoated lens. Aperture mechanism and blades cleaned. Main bearing and both helicoids cleaned, polished and re-greased. Lens repainted after removing all platings (as per the cameras) back to brass using classic gloss enamel which was then flattened and brassed lightly according to instructions. Lens reassembled, collimated and camera tested. These costs are your responsibility, and their exact amounts are uncertain. Lenses and camera shutters are visually and audibly inspected. Optical items like rangefinders are visually checked. Dust inside lenses, even new ones, won't affect images. If you plan to use them professionally, service or cleaning is advised. Expect reasonable functionality and optics without noticeable issues, unless specified.
