Leica III camera body made in 1938 sr # 301021 Includes Leitz plastic screw mount body cap. Camera clean, rangefinder and shutter speeds accurate.
The camera features separate rangefinder and viewfinder windows, shutter speeds from 1 second to 1/500, slow speeds adjusted on a second shutter dial on front. This model was first Leica with strap lugs. A pc flash cord outlet has been put on the camera. Notice also that the advance knob has been updated to. Film speed settings, either ASA or DIN, a feature not available in 1938 the background color is BLACK for this update, with white letters and numbers.
Adapter in camera bottom from 3/8 to 1/4 may not be original. Shutter speeds and viewfinder checked for accuracy, all mechanical movements smooth and even. Camera is very clean, some marks of wear on flash shoe and bottom plate.
I have inserted an adapter 1/4-20 to 3/8-20 in the bottom of the camera. I did not tighten it, which you may want to do before using it. Or just remove it for use with a tripod with a 3/8 fitting. There is cracking of the covering in 2 places, as photographed.
